Rest Stops That Make the Ride

Rest stops are a core part of the Dog Days Wine Tour experience. Each stop is designed to give riders a chance to refuel, hydrate, relax, and enjoy the unique character of Northeast Ohio wine country.

All routes include multiple, well supported rest stops staffed by friendly volunteers.

What You Will Find at Every Stop

  • Cold water and hydration

  • Cycling friendly snacks

  • Shade and seating where available

  • Restrooms

  • Friendly volunteers ready to help

Rest stops are spaced to support a comfortable and enjoyable ride for all ability levels.

Winery and Cider Stops

Select rest stops are hosted at local wineries and cider locations, offering a welcoming place to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.

Featured stops include:

Wine sampling is available during posted hours. Samples are limited in size and riders are encouraged to hydrate, eat, and ride responsibly.

Wakeman Elevator Pit Stop

For riders on the 38, 50, and 62 mile routes, the Wakeman Elevator Pit Stop is a featured highlight.

This popular stop offers:

  • A unique local setting

  • Additional snacks and hydration

  • A fun mid ride break point

The Wakeman Elevator Pit Stop does not offer wine transport.

Wine Purchases

Riders may purchase wine at participating winery stops.

  • Purchased bottles are transported to the finish area

  • Please label your purchase with your name

  • This service allows you to ride without carrying extra weight

Rest Stop Hours

Each rest stop operates within posted hours based on route distance and rider flow.

  • Riders starting very early may arrive before a stop opens

  • The final rest stop closes at 2:30 PM

  • Detailed rest stop hours are listed on the Ride Schedule page

Helpful Reminders

  • Wristbands are required for rest stop access

  • Follow posted route markings to ensure you arrive at the correct stops

  • Support vans are available if you need assistance

Rest stops at Dog Days Wine Tour are about more than food and water. They are places to connect, rest, and enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
