Ride of Silence

May 18 Ride of Silence  - A brief program starting at 5:00 p.m. will precede a short (5.5 mile), single file, slow paced ride done in silence.  All groups ride together.

This will be our 4rd Annual Ride of Silence. Along with hundreds of other groups across the country we participate in this unique event.

The event originated to memorialize friends who were killed while riding. We go one step further and recall all Members who have passed while part of our organization. We have had two members die on bikes and quite a few more who have passed otherwise.

Protocol for the subsequent shortened, Star Chase rides will remain the same.  The 2*, 3*, 4-*, 4+*, and Open groups will all be part of the star chase and ride the same route of approximately 18 miles.  Ride leaders will maintain their assigned pace, and folks who can not keep up will be dropped, to be picked up by a trailing slow group.  The 2* group will be ridden as a “no drop” group with no rider left behind.

Typically after the ride some of the participants with get together at a local eatery for a bit of post ride pizzaraderie.  Ask around if interested.

New folks - ask someone to point you toward the ride leader of the group you are thinking of joining.  Introduce yourself and they will assist you in joining the  appropriate group.
