RIDE OF SILENCE

This will be our 13th Annual Ride of Silence.  Along with hundreds of other groups across the country we participate in this unique event.  It originated to memorialize friends who were killed while riding and to bring to the attention of drivers that they are sharing the road with bicycles.  We go one step further and recall all members who have passed while part of our organization. We have had two members die on bikes and quite a few more who have passed otherwise.  

Please gather outside of the Oberlin Depot prior to the 5PM start time. You can park at the Dollar General lot and safely cross Rt. 58. We will then have a short ceremony honoring Silver Wheelers who have passed on.  We leave the Depot with club member Pati Habenicht playing her bagpipes to do a six mile 10 mph ride with a police escort around Oberlin. We will ride single file and silent. 

At the completion of the RoS the regular Wednesday evening club ride(s) will assemble in the Dollar General lot as usual. (approximately 5:40 pm)
