Back Roads and Beaches Ride and Picnic
Come enjoy a fun day of cycling followed by a picnic at Findley State Park. The ride will feature multiple routes for riders of all skill levels. Challenge yourself to the full 65-mile Back Roads and Beaches Route, the flatter alternate Back Roads and Beaches route, or enjoy 1 or 2 laps of the scenic 31-mile rolling ride around Wellington. The picnic will be a potluck with the club providing hot dogs, with the festivities commencing at 2 PM. There will be a cooler provided by the club for cold dishes that club members bring. We will also have Gatorade and water at the Start/Finish line, but please keep in mind that there will not be any dedicated/(club provided), rest stops on the route itself, so pack accordingly.
All of the routes are available with links below. We currently have ride leaders for multiple levels/ distances, and we would welcome additional leaders if there is a level/distance combination that isn't currently taken.
Ride starting times are be staggered with the intention of each group getting back to the picnic around the same time.
As the club is supplying hot dogs/ Gatorade/ water, we request you register your intent to take part - it helps with assessing food needs. (registration is NOT a requirement for participation, just a suggestion to simplify planning).
I look forward to seeing many of you there!
