2026 All* New Year Ride & Potluck
Kendal at Oberlin
It’s time again to enjoy an awesome New Years Day ride.
Place: Kendal Education Center. Enter the campus on Kendal Drive. Continue straight on Kendal Drive until you come to a stop sign. Turn right at the sign. The first building on your right as you enter Heiser Circle is the Education Center.
Click right for approximate location: Education Center
Parking is available on Heiser Circle. Please reserve handicap spaces for Kendal residents. Visitor parking is also available in Lot 4, just before the stop sign, and Lot 5, to the left just after the stop sign.
Time Schedule:
Noon - building open for food drop off and room set-up.
12:30 p.m.- rides start
1:30 p.m. we eat
We have the room until 4 p.m. After eating, stay to play table games (bring your favorite), complain about holiday weight gain, brag/gripe about the kids/grandkids.
For the potluck anything goes - okay, leftover Easter candy will probably not be that popular. You can bring a crockpot of something hot (soup, chili, sloppy joes, etc.), a side dish, salad, crackers, relishes, fruit, desserts…You bring it, we'll eat it. Nothing to bring? Come anyway. We don't keep count and we haven't run out of food yet. The usual coffee, paper goods, etc. will be provided.
Optional: You can help the environment by bringing your own reusable place settings.

Where can you help?
-Volunteer to lead a ride. Note that 1 hour is allocated for rides. Contact Charlotte if you’re willing to lead.
-Volunteer to bring a crockpot food (soup, chili, sloppy joes, etc.). Please contact Charlotte McGowan if you plan to bring something in this category.
-Bring a side dish or dessert (Advance notice to Charlotte is not necessary)
-Stir the crockpots & organize the buffet while the rides are in progress
Please be aware that ride leaders may cancel rides at ride time if temperature or road conditions are deemed unsuitable or not safe (ice/snow). Ride distances will be short and will be determined at ride time by leaders. Routes may consist of 1-mile laps circling the Kendal campus.
Weather for this event in the past has been indeterminant, but it never stopped us before from having fun - and we always eat! If all rides are cancelled due to weather, our eating time will remain at 1:30 p.m. Thus, you can still come any time after noon to socialize and play table games. New folks, this is a nice chance to meet some fellow members and see what you have gotten yourself into.
