In 2012, this ride was named Ohio’s Best Route by Bicycling.com.
Starting at the Munson Hill Station Trailhead, most of the ride is on paved trail or roads, but there are several short unpaved sections. You may not want to bring your best road bike. We will cross eight covered bridges, including the Smolen-Gulf Bridge which is the longest covered bridge in the United States. Please note that this route has about 2k feet of climb.
Toilet opportunities are very limited. There are no facilities at the Trailhead so plan your comfort stop accordingly as you exit the highway. There is a potential porta-potty stop at mile 29. Our lunch stop in Jefferson is at mile 35 and that may be your first and only restroom on the route. Bring plenty of water and snacks!
Since we will all be driving across town during rush hour give yourself enough time for travel and bathroom stop. If you run into problems or have questions about the ride feel free to call
Susan 440-503-2034
or
Norm 440-463-1616
If the weather looks unfavorable we will cancel Monday night and send out blast email and will have the website updated.
